First Financial Security, Inc. Director of Marketing Jennifer Pierce unveiled Ordinary People, Extraordinary Change at Leaders Convention 2026 (LC26), introducing a book built from the personal stories FFS agents have shared on the convention stage. The new book preserves the personal stories that define the FFS community while giving agents a meaningful new way to introduce others to the FFS opportunity.

“What makes FFS special isn’t the products, it isn’t the compensation plan, it isn’t even the opportunity,” Pierce said. “It’s the people. It’s the stories. It’s your stories.”

“Stories have a way of reaching people that facts and figures never could. That’s why your story matters,” Pierce emphasized. “Those stories deserve to live beyond this stage. They deserve to be read again and again. They deserve to reach people who were not in this room.”

The stories in Ordinary People, Extraordinary Change (OPEC) come from people of different ages, backgrounds, careers, and life experiences. Despite those differences, each story shared a common foundation: Every chapter was about an ordinary person making an extraordinary decision — a decision to believe, grow, serve or continue moving forward when quitting would have been easier.

That common thread became the foundation for the book’s title and message. FFS, Pierce pointed out, was not built by superheroes or people who already had everything figured out. It was built by ordinary people creating extraordinary change in their own lives and in the lives of those around them.

Most importantly, Pierce encouraged agents to place the book into the hands of people who may be searching for the same things many FFS agents were seeking when they first encountered the company: connection, possibility, and purpose.

A New Way to Start Meaningful Conversations

In addition to being an inspirational collection, Ordinary People, Extraordinary Change is designed as a practical business-building resource. By sharing the book, agents can introduce prospects to FFS through personal experiences rather than beginning with a formal business presentation. These stories allow readers to recognize parts of their own lives, aspirations, or challenges in the people featured — and consider what may be possible for them.

“People don’t join companies,” Pierce said. “People join people. They join stories they see themselves in. They join hope. They join possibility.”

Every LC26 attendee received a complimentary copy in their convention bag when the book was unveiled. Additional copies and the OPEC Conversation Guide are available to FFS agents through the OPEC Book page in the Agent Back Office.

“My hope is that this book does the very same thing for thousands of others,” Pierce said.
