Leaders Convention 2022 was a breakthrough success this past weekend for First Financial Security, Inc. as agents, employees, and carrier representatives gathered at the Paris Resort in Las Vegas for four days of essential training, networking, and entrepreneurial recognition.
This was First Financial Security’s first time back to the Las Vegas Strip for Leaders Convention in years, and the bustling location fed into the thrilling energy of each General Session. Our last Leaders Convention was held at the M Resort, just south of the Strip, where agents focused on Meeting the Challenge set before them after a pandemic year that shook the world. In the time since LC21, our field has faced resistance in the form of a volatile market and rampant inflation — this year, it was time for us all to make a Breakthrough.
Those who arrived early were met with two highly educational Sales Panels led by Director of Sales Andy Cowan — one on Vince Lombardi–style fundamentals and the other on the great wealth transfer on the horizon — as well as a Coach’s Academy led by Director of Performance Dave Wild. Wednesday night ended with our annual Q&A session, A Conversation with Victoria Le, where our top producer took time to answer questions from fellow agents on everything from her branding strategies to time management to the importance of supporting your team.
After an FFS Academy session introduced new agents to the tools for success at FFS, LC22 started in earnest as our premier insurance carriers educated the field through on-stage presentations and breakout sessions. Many carriers highlighted the benefits of new and innovative products and policies, while exciting news came from David Gilmore of National Life Group when he announced their innovative New Business Platform, which will make the application process from submission to commission practically instantaneous. We would like to thank all of our carriers for helping make LC22 possible and helping our agents implement the FFS vision.
By Friday, the room was buzzing with energy, as “Whoosh” after “Whoosh” rang out through the Paris. Agents listened to more excellent carrier representatives and an impressive sales panel led by Senior Vice President Michael Hatter with field panelists Ali Bouasavatdy, Mahider Mulugeta, and Chi Luu. The afternoon was packed with invigorating field leader presentations, from Julie Lor and Brandi Bridgett’s essential trainings on prospect lists and onboarding techniques to powerful motivation from our Two-Minute Speakers. Pahoua Xiong spoke about the power of recruiting a solid base team, while Pa Lee gave her advice on approaching prospects. Finally, FFS influencers and pioneers in video marketing took the stage for a lively panel on the power of TikTok, while experts in business building joined Dave Wild for an enlightening panel called “Why Do We Recruit?”
The last day of LC22 was filled with motivation and wisdom from our top leaders. Executive Field Chairmen like Javier Rodriguez, Mark Biermann, Shirley Luu, and Victoria Le covered everything from incentivizing clients and finishing strong to the importance of product knowledge and how to prospect with everyone you meet. Dave Wild sat down with business builders Brian Moua and Thai Thao for our Builders Masterclass, and Corey Vuu delivered a rousing presentation on various icons — from Louis Vuitton to Guccio Gucci to Hans Wilsdorf of Rolex — who overcame adversity and broke through resistance to start some of the world’s most successful brands and businesses. To close out the weekend, Chairman Phil Gerlicher addressed the field, calling back to his speech at last year’s Leaders Convention by likening our journey to the scaling of Mt. Everest. He urged agents to help one another as they face the climb ahead. “A breakthrough requires aggressive action,” he said. “Persistence breaks resistance.”
Our field has shown valiant persistence in the face of countless challenges, and after a weekend of extensive trainings and exciting presentations, they have everything they need go forth and break through to new levels of success.
